Agnès Guipont was born in France in 1969. She is a musician, writer and trained actor and has lived in Berlin since 2002. She is currently setting the 24 Sonnets by Louise Labé to music. A first EP with six songs from this cycle is being released in 2021, a collaboration with the guitarist Jonathan Bratoëff.
Her work is heavily marked by poetry and theatre. She has published two poem cycles (“L’eau reposait sur le dos du vent” and “Oreille”, in “Anthologie des poètes pas morts”, Le Veilleur Édition) in Paris, where she has also worked for many years as an actor and speaker for France Culture. In Berlin she has been involved in several theatre productions and has worked as a co-author, musician and sound artist (including Sophiensaele, Institut Français, HAU, Theater unterm Dach, Theater Eigenreich, HfS Ernst Busch, Noyman Miller, Museumsquartier Wien). She is a founder member of the non-profit organisation Network of French-Speaking Women Writers in Berlin.
