Tatiana Faia (1986) lives and works in Oxford. She holds a PhD in Ancient Greek literature and is the author of one book of short stories and four books of poems, most recently Leopardo e Abstracção (Leopard and Abstraction, 2019). In 2019 her book Um quarto em Atenas/A Room in Athens (2018) won the Portuguese Pen Award for poetry. She holds a PhD in Ancient Greek Literature and has translated Homer and Anne Carson into Portuguese. She also shares editorial responsibilities in the publishing project “Enfermaria 6” (Ward 6), which exists both as an online magazine and an independent imprint, with a focus on Portuguese and Brazilian poetry.

Literature Express Europe. Re:Writing a Myth

In 2000 more than a hundred poets from 43 European countries spent six weeks travelling across the continent – a working trip and reading tour through the whole of Europe. After all the upheavals and turmoil and the conflicts of the Nineties, it was also a journey of new beginnings. Now, twenty years on, poets who took part in the project as well as a younger generation of writers have been invited to write an essayistic, poetic reworking of the myth of the “Rape of Europa”.
