Judith Zander

Judith Zander was born in Anklam in 1980. She is equally celebrated as a poet, prose writer and translator (of poets including Sylvia Plath and Maya Angelou). Her first book was the novel “Dinge, die wir heute sagten” (dtv 2010), which was nominated for the German Book Prize. Her most recent book is “Johnny Ohneland” (dtv 2020). The collection “oder tau”, praised by critics for its “ambiguous feats of magic” as a “land register of contemporary poetry” (FAZ), made her known as a poet as well. Her subsequent collection, “manual numerale”, combined extreme strictness of form with a playfully casual walk through the days and months of the year 2012. “A mash-up album for Beatles fans and Baroque exegetes in equal measure, or, to stay with music journalism, a smash hit.” (fixpoetry)
